Ohio's 2010 Elections

In 2010, Ohioans will face many decisions as voters elect all of their statewide officials, including Governor, Auditor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Attorney General and three seats in the Ohio Supreme Court. All of Ohio's representation in the U.S. House of Representatives will be up for election, as well as one seat in the U.S. Senate. All seats in the Ohio House of Representatives and half of the seats in the Ohio Senate are also up for election.

2010 Elections Registration Deadline Election Day
Primary Election  Monday, April 5  Tuesday, May 4
General Election  Monday, October 4  Tuesday, November 2

With so many potential changes and choices facing Ohio voters during each election, it is vital to become educated and aware of the many different candidates and their positions on the issues that matter to you, your job and your family.  The Prosperity Project can help you do that by providing easy-to-access candidate information, as well as useful tools to help you register to vote, vote early with Ohio’s new no-fault absentee voting, or vote in person at the right time and place.

In Ohio, party affiliation of voters is determined during the Primary Election, when you can request a Democrat, Republican, or 'issues only' (independent) ballot.  However, you do not need to vote in a Primary Election or declare a political party preference to vote in the General Election in November.  During the General Election, all voters receive the same ballot and can vote for any candidate on that ballot, or write in the names of additional candidates.   You can vote for candidates from the Republican or Democratic parties, other parties, or independent candidates.

Voter registration for the 2010 General Election will end on October 4, 2010. To find out more about voter registration options, view our EZ vote system here:

Ohio has instituted a new program of no-fault absentee voting that allows voters to cast their ballots early via mail or in person at some locations.  Early voting is available more than 30 days prior to each election. Request forms for early voting/absentee ballots through the mail can be submitted now and are available through our EZ vote system or by clicking here.

Make your vote count for every election! Find out more about the candidates on this web site and be sure to vote, in person or by mail.
